Facebook Announces Privacy Redesign

Facebook will roll out changes today that will make it easier for our users to understand and control their privacy settings. As this change will have an impact on our users, we wanted to let you, a valued advertising partner, know about it. Please note that this change will not affect your advertising campaigns and there is no action required on your part.

Facebook is a company that moves quickly, constantly innovating and launching new products to improve the user experience. The feedback we heard from users was that in our efforts to innovate, some of our privacy settings h ad become confusing.

We believe in listening to our users and taking their feedback into account whenever possible. We think the following changes address these concerns by providing users with more control over their privacy settings and making them more simple to use.

Starting today, Facebook will:

* Provide an easy-to-use “master” control that enables users to set who can see the content they share through Facebook.  This enables users to choose, with just one click, the overall privacy level they’re comfortable with for the content they share on Facebook. Of course, users can still use all of the granular controls we’ve always offered, if they wish.
* Significantly reduce the amount of information that must be visible to everyone on Facebook. Facebook will no longer require that users’ friends and connections are visible to everyone. Only Name, Profile Picture, Networks and Gender must be publicly available. Users can opt to make all other connections private.
* Make it simple to control whether other applications and websites access any user information. While a majority of our users love Facebook apps and Facebook-enhanced websites, some may prefer not to share their information outside of Facebook. Users can now opt out with just one click.

Pandora one review free trial

I’ve been using Pandora for sometime now after they had done a cap that has not stopped me from coming back to Pandora.
I’m not sure but i clicked on this link after logging into to Pandora and got a free 24 hour trial..
My review:

Doesn’t lie about “more skips” and no ads i didn’t test the desktop app just because i have no use for it i mean you get what you pay for as of this post it’s 35USD a year..

How to install webmin on ubuntu centos and OSs alike

Installing Webmin on a server is pretty painless; however, to install it, you must have root access to the server.
To install it we are going to use the tarball :)
make sure you have wget install
On centOS it’s yum install wget
On ubuntu apt-get install wget
To download it:

cd /root
wget http://sourceforge.net/projects/webadmin/files/webmin/1.510/webmin-1.510.tar.gz/download

You have now downloaded webmin in /root. The installation of Webmin will take some tiime depends on your server spcs once you untar the tarball and run the script.

To install Webmin, you need to run the following commands:

tar -xf webmin-1.510.tar.gz
cd webmin-1.510
sh setup.sh

Once this is done, you just need to make sure Webmin has started, and you can visit by going to http://ipaddress:10000.
Login with root and your root passw

How to install cpanel hosting panel on centos

Visit http://verify.cpanel.net to verify that your IP has the proper licensing necessary to install it.

On CentOS:

yum install gcc gcc-c++ make -y

As soon as these prerequisites have been installed, it’s now time to install cPanel. The steps to install cPanel are:

wget http://layer1.cpanel.net/latest
chmod +x latest
sh latest

When this process has started, look at more posts on my blog :)
If you have any problems you should check: http://www.cpanel.net/install.html

then go to : https://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:2087 and setup your server.
If you never setup a cpanel server, you can find some usefull information here: http://www.cpanel.net/docs.htm

how to install DirectAdmin hosting panel on CentOS

To install DirectAdmin, you need some packages before hand. Run:

yum update -y
yum install gcc-c++ gcc automake -y

At this point, it’s time to make sure nothing is preinstalled on your server, and if it is, it’s time to remove it.

Run:

yum remove httpd* php* mysql* -y

Your server is now prepared to install DirectAdmin, so let’s begin.

Run:

wget http://directadmin.com/setup.sh
chmod +x setup.sh
sh setup.sh

That’s about it, just do what it asks for :)

Hard Drive Partition With Tech Support

Once the hard drive is formatted the partitions get destroyed. Some users partition their hard drives in to C:, D:, E:, F:, G: and so on which is actually not necessary even for a large memory slot. Mac, Linux can easily handle partitions of all size and even the multi-terabyte memory slots that are just coming up on the market; so you don’t have to worry much for your partitioning issue just contact an experienced computer support service providers and make sensible segments for strategic data management. In case of formatted hard drive you must recover the partition plan. Data recovery software applications work to undo partitioning format.

Before performing the act, let’s know what the process actually means. Partitioning a memory slot leads to divide the storage space of hard drive into specific data areas which are termed as the partitions. Your tech support pr computer help vendor might suggest some partition editor software or program applications that can create modify and delete the partitions whenever needed. Careful management of the size of the partition is essential as the ability to change the allotment depends on the file system installed on the partition. Directories and file formats get stored in different partitions in most cases.

However, some people think that having a separate partition for the specific files help users with developed performance. But, the fact is just reverse. The system performance gets optimized, according to computer support experts, when the swap files are on the same partition as the operating system. This is mainly because the task lessens up the movement of drive ahead. Now if you make the swap file partition too small it becomes easy to underrate the amount of space slot that the operating system will need over time.

More hard drive partitions no doubt provide more control but too many of partitions may become cumbersome. Computer support technicians therefore direct their customers to partition their memory slot with a serious estimation and consideration. The process of space management, access permissions and directory searching are implemented depends upon the type of file system your tech support vendor has installed on a partition. Therefore, careful consideration is so much important as the ability to change the size depends on the file system installed on the partition.

Considering the above fact, it is always wise to contact an experienced tech support to partition your hard drive even if you have made the formatting at yourself. Difficulties can crop up anytime. Initially you may go along with a smooth access with your data management and partitioning work, but in the long run it can cause sheer difficulty in simple access. In other words, if your partition get disturbed it may cause serious consequences.

Spyware Infections the First Week of April

Each year, the first week of April (coinciding with “April Fool’s Day”) brings an increase in spyware and malware infections. It’s become something of an annual tradition that causes havoc for computer users, lost productivity, and overall inconvenience. Not to mention potentially costing thousands of dollars in repairs.

We’re working hard to prepare for this onslaught and we’re up for the challenge. It makes sense, however, to remind computer users to be extra vigilant during this period of increased spyware activity:

Don’t open emails, files or attachments from people you don’t know.

Be extra cautious opening emails, files or attachments from people you do know.

Don’t be fooled by “scareware” tactics. Know what software you are using, and familiarize yourself with how it delivers warnings and alerts.

If you’re considering giving your social networking activities a break, now might be a good time. No one will miss you if you take a week off.

Stay away from websites that you haven’t visited before. Think before you click!

Run multiple layers of security software. There are many free and effective solutions that will co-exist well with each other. Remember, a single solution may not be enough, especially during this period of increased spyware activity.
